Artist Statement

I create textured mixed-media paintings of botanical forms and natural elements for collectors who appreciate tactile, layered art. I focus on creating a moody aesthetic, layering earthy foundations with intentional touches of colour to evoke a grounded yet vibrant sense of place.

Artist Bio

Based on Montreal’s South-Shore in Greenfield Park-Quebec, Josyan McGregor is a self-taught mixed-media artist and senior designer with over twenty years of experience in the creative industries. Driven by a lifelong curiosity, she is constantly expanding her knowledge across design, architecture, art, and visual communication. In her philosophy, these disciplines are deeply interconnected, each informing and enriching the other.

This multi-disciplinary perspective shapes her current artistic practice, which focuses on atmospheric, moody interpretations of landscapes and botanical forms. Working with watercolour, acrylic, collage, and pastels, she builds rich, tactile compositions that bring a grounding sense of calm and sanctuary into interior spaces.

An active participant in her local creative community, McGregor is a proud member of the Player’s of Greenfield Park, where; on occasion, she steps onstage as an actor and contributes behind the scenes by designing show programs and creating promotional social media animations.

Her fine art has been featured at Signรฉ Local in the Eaton Centre Montreal and AERA Saint-Constant, and she is currently presenting a six-month exhibition at Demers Beaulne in Montreal. From her home studio, she develops original paintings and fine art prints, creating deeply texture-driven work that connects collectors with the raw beauty of the shifting seasons.
